Inspired by the quote on my graduation gift from Qatar Foundation, I started this blog to learn and share about the things I am most passionate about – Technology, Space, and Education.
My name is Safin Hossain Bayes. I am a Master’s student in the Fanos Research Lab of the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at McMaster University, ON, Canada. My research is in the field of embedded systems.
I received my B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University at Qatar in May 2021. I was the recipient of the Summa Cum Laude Latin honors, Electrical Engineering Student of the Year, and Undergraduate Research Scholar Medallion. During my undergraduate years, I had done extensive research in solar panels, fault detection, and grid cyber-security. I have four publications in IEEE conferences, including one publication as the primary author.
I am from Bangladesh, but I was born and raised in Qatar. I lived in the tiny, but wealthy country of the Arabian Peninsula for 23 years, where I did my schooling and college. Currently, I live in Canada in the city of Hamilton, ON, pursuing my master’s degree.
